Hello Everyone!
My name is Max Shughart. I’m a professional game developer (just not a profitable one). Here I’m going to describe everything I have done and will do to become a successful game developer. There are three reasons I want to do this.
- I want to help new indie developers create their games and realize their dreams. By watching me stumble and bumble my way through creating, advertising and publishing. Hopefully we can learn together what works and what doesn’t.
- I want to gather feedback from players and developers to make better quality games. I hope you’ll feel reach out to me to tell me what I’m doing wrong, what you like, what you hate and what you think I should do. I’d especially like direction to resources I could use or relevant stories about the stage of development I’m in.
- I want to build an audience for my games. As fun as it would be to make games for myself to play alone in my basement. I need to sell games to make enough money to quit my day job, so I could spend more time making games, so I can make enough money to live out the rest of my days peacefully, AND that’s when the real fun begins. I can take real risks and make masterpieces without influence by marketing trends, publishing stunts and target audiences. I can make all the games I’ve dreamed of. Games that have deserved to exist for a long time.
